Lazercraft Boats

Lazercraft Boats, one of New Zealand's original alloy boat manufacturers, has been producing high quality alloy boats since 1984. They pioneered many New Zealand boating firsts over their colourful history. The company continues to craft some of New Zealand's finest finished alloy boats, many incorporating aluglass technology featuring alloy hulls for durability and light weight combined with fibreglass decks and internal mouldings for comfort, warmth, noise reduction, and good looks.
The past 30 years have seen many Lazercraft models recognized as having some of the softest riding alloy hulls on the market. The extensive experience gathered by their team has been integral in developing the current Lazercraft range, known for quality and performance on the water.
The company was founded by Gavin Child, who introduced numerous innovations to the New Zealand marine industry including what is regarded as "the softest riding alloy hull on the market." Gavin and his sons Shane and Jason worked to create superior boats compared to the typical agricultural "tinny" boats of the time. Their success expanded Lazercraft's presence across New Zealand and to international markets such as Australia, the Pacific Islands, the US, and Russia. Today, under the leadership of Shane Child, Lazercraft collaborates with Southern Boats to continue producing top-quality, soft-riding, and finely finished alloy boats. Innovation remains a core value with ongoing development of new ideas, technologies, and models.
